Mommy Makeover Q & A

What is a Mommy Makeover?

Done having children and wish you could get your pre-kids body back? A Mommy Makeover may be the right choice for you.

Mommy Makeovers let you receive several procedures at once. That can reduce your recovery time and speed up showing off your new look. Dr. Giuffrida can improve several areas of your body simultaneously, including:

  • Breast augmentation
  • Breast lift
  • Buttocks augmentation
  • Tummy tuck
  • Vaginal rejuvenation

Who is a good candidate for a Mommy Makeover?

Because recovery can take a few weeks, a Mommy Makeover is best for someone who's in good general health and is done having children.

If you take certain medicines, including supplements, vitamins, and non-prescription drugs, you’ll want to discuss them with Dr. Giuffrida ahead of the surgery. Some medicines can increase the risk of bleeding, and you may have to stop taking them before and just after the surgery.

What will my recovery be like after a Mommy Makeover?

You’ll have some swelling and discomfort after the Mommy Makeover, so you should plan on having someone at home who can help you and take care of any kids at home for at least a few days.

It takes a few weeks for the swelling to subside after a Mommy Makeover. Dr. Giuffrida will apply bandages to your incisions after your surgery, and you may need some specialized wrappings or clothing to accelerate the healing and reduce the swelling.

If you’ve had surgery on your breasts, you may need to wear a specialized bra or bandage to reduce swelling in your breasts. For surgery on the buttocks, waist or abdomen, you’ll likely need to wear a compression garment for a few weeks to help get you to your new, beautiful figure

Dr. Giuffrida will also give you instructions on:

  • Post-surgery pain relief medications, if needed
  • Care for your incisions until they heal
  • When to resume exercise and other activities
  • When you can go back to taking a bath or shower
  • When to schedule your follow-up appointment

Mommy Makeovers can give you the body you’ve missed and improve your self-confidence. If you’re ready to talk about what a Mommy Makeover can do for you, call or click online today to make a consultation appointment with Dr. Giuffrida.
